In 2010, Dr. Brian O’Connor founded Middlesex Recovery after seeing a lack of quality treatment for expectant mothers who were addicted to opioids. This unfortunate barrier to care prompted him to create a medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program that would not only be beneficial to expectant mothers, but also a space for anyone struggling with opioid and / or alcohol addiction use disorders. Middlesex Recovery has grown to six locations throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, treating thousands of patients across the Commonwealth.
Middlesex Recovery offices in Massachusetts are licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) as Office Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT) centers and our Salem, New Hampshire office provides similar services, conveniently located in southern New Hampshire.
The Middlesex Recovery clinics are regional leaders in outpatient addiction treatment services delivered by an outstanding team of dedicated and compassionate medical providers, clinical and administrative staff.
All Middlesex Recovery Centers locations are federally certified, state licensed, and accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This accreditation indicates our commitment to continually improving our services, encouraging feedback from those we work with, and serving our communities while meeting or exceeding the industry’s standards of care.
