Middlesex Recovery Norton Outpatient Services include:
Opioid Addiction Use Disorder Recovery
Every year, millions of Americans struggle with feelings of shame and isolation stemming from opioid misuse — including people of all ages throughout Massachusetts. Our experienced providers prescribe the FDA-approved medications listed below. Learn more about our opioid treatment program here.
- Suboxone – combination of buprenorphine with naloxone – an opioid antagonist taken in pill form that binds to opioid receptors without actually activating them.
- Sublocade® – injectable medication that delivers continuously at a sustained level throughout the month after injection. It attaches to the brain’s receptors and blocks other opioids from attaching and causing euphoric feelings.
- Vivitrol® – opioid antagonist that is approved to treat patients who misuse opioid medications or alcohol. It comes in the form of injection and is designed to reduce and suppress cravings for alcohol and opiate drugs. It does this by attaching to the opioid receptors in the brain, thereby removing opiate drugs on the receptors and suppressing future cravings.
- Brixadi – We offer an extended-release injectable form of buprenorphine, Brixadi. It is used to treat opioid use disorder and is similar to Sublocade with some differences. The injection can be given once per week or once a month and is a smaller injection that can be injected through different sites on a person’s body. The injection can only be administered by a healthcare professional.
Alcohol Addiction Use Disorder Recovery
In today’s society, alcohol is everywhere and present in many of life’s situations. Our caring and understanding team of medical providers are equipped to help you overcome addiction to alcohol by prescribing naltrexone brand Vivitrol®. Read more on our alcohol misuse treatment program here.
- Vivitrol® – opioid antagonist that is approved to treat patients who misuse opioid medications or alcohol with no potential for physical dependence. It comes in the form of injection and is designed to reduce and suppress cravings for alcohol and opioid drugs. It does this by attaching to the opioid receptors in the brain, thereby removing opiate drugs on the receptors and suppressing future cravings.
Substance Use Counseling
A highly recommended addition to your addiction treatment plan is that of joining substance use counseling. This counseling is referral-based and designed to help you identify underlying triggers and find healthy coping skills to live an overall healthier life. Individualized options for this include:
- Individual counseling – One-on-one counseling sessions that will help you to better understand the emotional factors behind your addiction. This is a safe, confidential space to work through past trauma, create healthy coping habits and goal-setting for your recovery.
- Group counseling – There is strength in numbers, and group counseling is where you’ll learn you’re not alone in this process. Others recovering from opioid or alcohol use disorders attend group therapy to meet others like them and encourage one another on the pathway to long-lasting recovery.
Now Offering Case Management
Our case managers assess the patient’s specific needs and locate applicable services to meet those needs. They coordinate communication between medical providers, legal counselors, social workers, sober companions, recovery coaches and other community-based resources to ensure that you or your loved one’s therapeutic, medical and social needs are met.
Recovery Education and Planning
Our dedicated team of Addiction Recovery Associates assists patients by connecting them to counseling services, healthcare resources, community resource agencies, and other levels of care as needed. They also provide educational resources related to Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
