Amanda Wood-Friend, FNP-C

Amanda Wood-Friend, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 18 years of experience caring for individuals and families across community health, urgent care, and substance use treatment settings. She began her career in a federally funded community health center, where she discovered a deep passion for serving medically underserved populations—work she continues to find especially meaningful.

Amanda earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Ithaca College and completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the Massachusetts Institute of Health Professions. Today, she focuses on helping individuals navigate substance use recovery through medication-assisted treatment, ambulatory detox, and integrated behavioral health care.

She has supported patients in inpatient detox, residential programs, and virtual care environments, giving her a broad perspective on recovery and the unique challenges patients face at every stage. Amanda is known for her compassionate, nonjudgmental approach and believes in meeting people where they are, empowering them with the tools and support needed for lasting change.

She is deeply committed to expanding access to care and reducing stigma, and she considers it a privilege to walk alongside patients on their recovery journey.
